President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness program was reportedly invalidated by the Supreme Court on Friday, depriving tens of millions of Americans of the opportunity to have up to $20,000 of their debt forgiven.
Since the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals placed a temporary stay on the program in October, it has been prohibited. There were over 43 million eligible participants.
Oral arguments were held by the justices at the end of February.
