RFK Jr Removes All Members of CDC Vaccine Panel

In a sweeping move that underscores his controversial stance on vaccination, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reportedly announced the dismissal of all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the federal panel that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on vaccine policy.

In an opinion piece published in the Wall Street Journal on Monday, Kennedy emphasized the need for a “clean sweep” to restore public confidence in vaccine science.

The ACIP plays a critical role in shaping U.S. vaccination policy, reviewing data and making recommendations that influence eligibility for vaccines as well as insurance coverage decisions.

Kennedy’s decision to remove the committee members represents a significant shift in the administration’s approach to vaccine advisory processes.

Kennedy, a prominent figure in the vaccine skepticism movement, has faced criticism for his views, which many health experts consider to be contrary to established scientific consensus.

Since taking office, he has made several moves that could potentially undermine vaccination efforts in the United States, raising concerns among public health advocates.

The Secretary’s latest action has sparked immediate backlash from liberal health professionals and public health organizations.

Kennedy’s statement also reflects a broader narrative among vaccine skeptics who claim that current vaccination policies are flawed and need reform.

However, many in the scientific community view this perspective as dangerous, particularly in light of recent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases.

The timing of Kennedy’s announcement is particularly notable as it comes amid ongoing discussions about vaccine mandates and public health policy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
