A morning drop-off at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis was shattered by gunfire on Tuesday, leaving multiple victims and sending shockwaves through the city. Gov. Tim Walz confirmed the incident, calling it a “horrific act of violence” that marred the first week of the school year.
“I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence,” Walz wrote on social media, acknowledging the anguish that many families now face.
Law enforcement officials said the shooter is “contained” and assured residents that there is “no active threat to the community.” According to sources, the suspect is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
