Stefanik Announces She’s Out of NY Governor’s Race, Retiring From Congress

In a stunning announcement, Rep. Elise Stefanik announced Friday that she would be dropping out of the race to become New York’s next Governor, in addition she also announced she will be leaving politics and thus not seeking reelection to her current seat.

While spending precious time with my family this Christmas season, I have made the decision to suspend my campaign for Governor and will not seek re-election to Congress. I did not come to this decision lightly for our family.
